Many residents of Worthington list the East Granville Road Park as their favorite. It may seem small from Granville Road, with a simple playground and gazebo with picnic tables. But there’s a hidden gem people might miss unless they take the time to explore: The Moses Wright Nature Area.
The paths through Moses Wright are a perfect stroll on a hot summer day. The storybook trail guides families through this remarkable wooded area in the middle of the city. A downed tree has been preserved as a perfect climbing structure. It’s also a great opportunity to show your favorite children how to count the rings and understand how old trees are.
The Worthington Parks and Recreation Department is planning improvements to the park. Several benches along the trail, as well as two bridges, need to be replaced. Residents have requested additional trails and more native plants. Volunteers help control invasive plants and install pollinator gardens to provide habitat for birds and insects.
