As a newly formed organization, the Worthington Parks and Recreation Foundation is taking important early steps to establish its direction and impact. Our immediate focus is on identifying fundraising priorities in close collaboration with the leadership and staff of the Worthington Parks and Recreation Department.
We’re also exploring the best ways to connect with individuals and organizations who share a passion for enhancing our parks, trails, and recreational spaces. This includes learning from proven donor engagement strategies and preparing for meaningful community outreach.
One potential project has already been identified through initial review—stay tuned to our Our Work section for more details.
Next, the Foundation Board will examine recent community surveys and the Parks and Recreation Master Plan to help shape a short list of three to five high-impact projects. These will serve as a launching point for conversations with donors and supporters.
Our vision includes a multi-tiered fundraising approach that combines public awareness efforts, events, personal giving opportunities, planned giving, and grant-seeking—all to strengthen Worthington’s parks and programs for generations to come.
